The wolf fungus is a parasite that infects a host via spores, which penetrate the brain for their site of growth. After taking hold,
the fungus creates a series of fine, root-like structures that invade and embed themselves in the neural tissue of the brain. They take
nutrients from the host body, causing brain tissue damage as they expand their hold.
As they grow, they cause damage to the brain tissue, interfering with proper neurological functioning. Normal neural signals for thought
processes, actions, and behavior become irrelevant in the face of the fungus’ signals, resulting in unusual actions on the part of the host. As the process continues, the brain deteriorates completely, becoming a useless husk within the skull.
All movement is then controlled by the fungus’ network, as it takes charge of the functions of the body.
